The BANCF Apprenticeship Program, established in 2007, is North Central Florida’s trusted pathway to careers in construction. Registered with the Florida Department of Education and sponsored by the Builders Association of North Central Florida, our program blends employer-paid, on‑the‑job training with classroom instruction at Santa Fe College — with no cost to the apprentice and no college debt.

What Makes Our Program Different

Earn While You Learn

Full-time work from day one plus structured classroom education.

Progressive Raises

Starting at 55% of journeyman rate, with incremental pay increases every 1,000 OJT hours.

Dual Credentials

Journeyman license, co-op college certificate, and NCCER/Mike Holt/HBI credentials.

Hands-On Curriculum

8,000 OJT + 650 classroom hours (4-year trades); 4,000 OJT + ~425 classroom hours (2-year trades).

Close collaboration between BANCF, Santa Fe College, and industry mentors.

Program Overview

Started: 2007

Counties Served:

Alachua, Levy, Gilchrist, Dixie, Lafayette, Madison, Taylor, Suwannee, Hamilton

Trades Offered:

4‑year: Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing
2‑year: Carpentry, Building Maintenance

Class Schedule:

Two evenings per week at Santa Fe College during fall/spring semesters (156 instructional hours)

Curriculum Providers:

NCCER (plumbing, HVAC, carpentry), Mike Holt (electrical), HBI (building maintenance)
