Eligibility – Who Can Apply?

Our program is open to:

  • High school graduates or GED holders
  • Veterans and transitioning service members
  • Adults seeking a new career path
  • Individuals age 18+ with a strong work ethic

How the Apprenticeship Program Works

STEP 1:

Work Full‑Time – You’re hired by a participating employer and earn a paycheck from day one.

STEP 2:

Train in the Classroom – Attend classes two nights a week with experienced instructors.

STEP 3:

Graduate as a Journeyman – After 4 years, you’ll have 8,000 OJT hours and 600 classroom hours.

Class Schedule:

2 nights/week
(Fall & Spring)

Credentials:

Journeyman Certificate, Santa Fe College Co‑op Certificate, NCCER/HBI/Mike Holt certs

Location:

Santa Fe College + on‑the‑job with local employers

HVAC (Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning)

HVAC technicians are the reason we stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. This trade combines mechanical skill, problem-solving, and technology — all while offering great pay, job stability, and career growth.

Plumbing

Plumbers do much more than fix leaky pipes — they protect health, keep water flowing, and solve complex problems in homes and buildings. With solid income potential, job stability, and career flexibility, this trade delivers.

Carpentry

Carpenters bring blueprints to life — building everything from walls and roofs to cabinets and custom furniture. If you enjoy hands-on work, working with tools, and seeing real progress each day, this trade might be the perfect fit.

Building Maintenance

Building maintenance technicians are the behind-the-scenes heroes who keep everything running. From changing light fixtures to fixing leaks, they make sure schools, offices, apartments, and commercial spaces stay safe, functional, and comfortable.
